Raleigh Nc Accommodations

Raleigh car rental and Raleigh, NC Accommodations Overview

Raleigh has quite a few options available for you to choose from when you visit with your Raleigh car rental. From luxurious, full service hotels to a romantic bed and breakfast, you can find something that meets your preferences and budget.

Stay in the lap of luxury

The Umstead Hotel and Spa is a member of the Leading Hotels of the World and Leading Spas of the Word. Located only six minutes from the Raleigh-Durham International Airport, it is a little outside of the city, making it a relaxing get-away. When you visit with your Raleigh car rental, you will find custom furnishings, state-of-the-art technology, and fine linens when you stay here. On site, there is also a full service, 14,500 square-foot spa. They also offer preferred tee times at the Prestonwood Country Club.

A little charm goes a long way

The Fuquay Mineral Spring Inn and Garden is a colonial revival landmark and is listed on the National Register Historic District. They are located across the street from the Historic Fuquay Mineral Spring Park and offers four bed and breakfast accommodations while you visit with your Raleigh car rental. The B and B Country Garden Inn is another bed and breakfast that is located about 20 minutes from Raleigh in Apex. Located among ponds and gardens, peace and tranquillity are the biggest draw to this location. All rooms have private baths and there is a Jacuzzi gazebo on site. Within Raleigh, you will find the Cameron Park Inn Bed and Breakfast, which was built in 1916 in the post-Victorian and Colonial Revival styles. This bed and breakfast features a railed front porch and gothic windows. All four guest rooms have private baths and a full breakfast is included. There is also the William Thomas House Bed and Breakfast, which was built around 1881. All of the guestrooms here also have private baths and a full breakfast is served.

Save some money

While you are visiting with your Raleigh car rental, a condo or vacation rental can save you a lot of money if you have a big group or plan to stay a while. These rentals often have more space than a traditional hotel and you can save money by staying in to cook rather than eating out everyday. Some of these rentals are done directly by the owners, while others are through companies such as HomeAway Vacation Rentals and Rentalo.com.

There are also a number of motels in the area that can save you money for shorter trips. After all, you're not here to sit in your room all day! Chains like the Best Western, Comfort Inn, Days Inn, Econo Lodge, Holiday Inn, and Super 8 Motel can be found all around Raleigh with your Raleigh car rental.

Explore the city

Raleigh is the state capital of North Carolina and the second most populous city after Charlotte. Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill make up the three historic cities of the Research Triangle metropolitan area. Raleigh was chosen as the state capital in 1788 and was established in 1792. It was chosen in part because it was within 10 miles of Isaac Hunter's Tavern, which was frequented by state legislators. Since no known city or town existed on the chosen site for the city, Raleigh is one of the few cities in the country that was planned and built specifically to serve as the state capital. Raleigh is home to the North Carolina Museum of Art, the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, North Carolina Museum of History, Raleigh City Museum, Pope House Museum, and many others. There is also a number of performing arts that take place within the city. The Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion at Walnut Creek hosts a number of internationally recognized touring acts. The North Carolina Symphony, the Opera Company of North Carolina, Burning Coal Theater Company, Broadway Series South, and the Carolina Ballet are also found in the city. For sports, you will find the Carolina Hurricanes (hockey) in the winter and Carolina RailHawks FC (soccer) in the summer
