Find your way to the park
Piedmont Park is located approximately two miles northeast of the city’s downtown core. Atlanta rent a car travelers will find it running along 10th Street (a block west of 10th and Monroe Avenue, to a block just east of 10th and Piedmont Avenue) and Piedmont Avenue (12th and Piedmont to just before 15th and Piedmont). Visitors are welcome in the park daily from 6am to 11pm. Unfortunately, parking is pretty limited in the area. Recreational opportunities abound in Piedmont Park all year round. These activities include everything from jogging and biking, to swimming and soccer. Expanding the park
Just when you thought Piedmont Park couldn’t get any bigger, Atlanta City Council officials announced an expansion plan that would incorporate an additional 53 acres of usable green-space into the park. The plan, which required a deal with the Atlanta Botanical Garden, will increase Piedmont Park’s usable space by nearly 40 percent. New facilities are also planned as part of the expansion; Atlanta rent car travelers are encouraged to keep an eye out for a restored visitor center and revitalized gazebo and bridge.
Enjoy a special event at Piedmont Park
Piedmont Park is home to a number of exciting annual events and activities, ranging from charitable events to landscaping courses. Many of these events are free to the public, so don’t be afraid to drop by the park and participate during your upcoming Atlanta rent a car vacation. Popular events include the Green Marketing for Piedmont Park, held every Saturday from May through December, and the Atlanta Audubon Society Bird Walks.
