If you're planning a vacation or looking for a new place to live and work, you should not overlook beautiful Richmond and particularily the area around Broad Street.
For starters, Capitol Square in Richmond is a stunning visual you have to see in person to believe (online pictures just don’t do it justice). There are huge trees, perfectly trimmed landscaping, and all the beauty of God’s grain earth for which the entire state is known. The splendid State Capitol building looks amazing nestled on the hilltop in the Square.
If you are into Civil War related buildings and memorabilia, the Museum of the Confederacy will be a fascination to behold. It has the most thorough collection of art, artifacts and other Confederate items you’ll find in the US.
In that same historical vein is the Richmond National Battlefield Park, where union armies geared up to take Richmond and put an end to the Civil War. There is so much history in Richmond as it was a center-point of many of this war’s very pivotal battles.
The Virginia Science museum is located in the gigantic and glorious former Broad Street Station building. Beyond covering many hands-on and captivating science exhibits, the museum is home to the Ethyl Universe Planetarium and Space Theatre which features Omnimax films and other special planetarium shows.
The Broad Street area is an excellent location with so many parks and restaurants all in near proximity. This is the ideal place to start your day as a tourist or resident, with so much to do and see!
