Building blocks
Kapla Blocks are wooden building toys that are made from French wood. This exhibit allows kids to get hands on experience with construction, engineering, and architecture, as well as art, science, math, and history. From monuments to palaces, villages, to bridges, the world is your to create with blocks. With the wheel and art exhibit, you will learn about real-world examples of machines and use it to move parts inside the machine. In the wedges exhibit, you will have to try to pull a split log apart. Finally, with the pulley exhibit, you can test the effectiveness of different pulley configurations.

Discovery Place is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Sunday from noon until 5 p.m. They are closed Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The museum is $7 per person. If you would like to see an IMAX film as well, there are package deals. You can buy your tickets online from their website, by phone, or in person at the admissions desk.
