The main museum's exhibits include natural history and local history displays and decorative arts, including silver. One display features objects from the museum's origins in the late 1700s. The museum focuses on local historic, cultural, and natural history. Permanent exhibits include artifacts from 18th and 19th centuries, including slave tags and firearms from the Civil War. They also feature an impressive silver collection which includes the christening cup of George Washington. For those who like natural history when traveling with Charleston car rental, check out the bird collection and skeletons of local prehistoric animals

The Charleston Museum's permanent exhibitions is a noted collection containing several things from people and events from the early settlement through the late 19th century. Highlights include early tradeware, slave tags, artifacts from eras of rice and cotton, the chair in which delegates sat to sign South Carolina's Ordinance of Secession, and firearms from the War Between the States. You also won't want to miss out on the museum's exhibition "Charleston Silver" when you travel with your Charleston Car Rental. Fun for everyone

The Charleston Museum is a perfect outing with the kids and your Charleston car rental. There is a large children's section in the museum, which has several large dollhouses and various kinds of clothing worn at various periods in Charleston's history. There is a mixture of old and new clothing here. There is also a section of the museum where children can do various things, such as make quilt patterns. Visitors can put their squares of fabric up on a velcro wall. Just remember that there is a no photo rule in this section because of the fear of the flash fading the fabrics. There is also a copy of what the Hundley Submarine looks like but since it had been sunk during the Civil War, no one really knows for sure. It is outside of the museum so you can see it without paying the admission fee. You can also find another submarine inside the museum as well.

Heyward-Washington House and the Joseph Manigault House

While you're at the Charleston Museum why don't you take a look at the Heyward-Washington House and the Joseph Manigault which are in the same area? They are 2 beautiful historic houses that are a recognized National Historic Landmark.
