The Atlanta Motor Speedway is the bustling center of NASCAR racing for two weekends a year. So what happens there during the other 360 some-odd days? When driver’s aren’t racing around the track at breakneck speeds, the Atlanta Motor Speedway opens its track to the public, providing Atlanta rental car travelers with a behind-the-scenes look at one of the South’s finest racing complexes. Official track tours are offered regularly at the Speedway, so don’t miss your chance to follow in the tire tracks of legends like Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt Jr. During the tours, Atlanta rental car travelers will learn all about the track’s history, visit the Petty Garden, and take a sneak peek at Victory Lane. Major Events happen at the Motor Speedway

Directions to the track
Atlanta rental car travelers will find the Motor Speedway located approximately 30 miles south of Atlanta. If you’re traveling from the south in your Atlanta rental car, take I-75 until you reach Exit 235 and continue south on Highway 19 & 41 for about 15 miles. Fans can also take Exit 218 as an alternative, following Highway 20 for about 10 miles (signs will lead you into the Speedway’s parking area). If you’re coming from the north in your Atlanta rental car, take Exit 205 from I-75 on GA 16 West into Griffin. From there, follow U.S. Highway 19 & 41 north for about 10 miles until you reach the Speedway. Alternatively, Atlanta rental car travelers can take Exit 212 off of I-75, heading west on Hampton-Locust Grove Road to GA 20. Follow GA 20 west for about two miles until you see the signs for Atlanta Motor Speedway.
