Local History
Frank Colonna, founder and President of Triangle Rent A Car, opened his first location in an old gas station on Western Boulevard in Raleigh in 1979 with a fleet of six cars and three employees. Frank built a new office a few miles down the road from the old gas station which is now the Hillsborough Street location. This site housed both the corporate office and rental office. In 2000 a new corporate office for Triangle was built on Hargrove Road in North Raleigh. The rental office on Hillsborough Street continues to provide the same level of service that Frank offered in 1979 but they definitely have more vehicles.

We wanted to recognize NC State University by offering a special deal. So any NC State University employee can enjoy the comfort of a bigger car for less with a Free Upgrade if you rent a compact through full-size car at any of our Raleigh locations for a week or longer. Local Charities
MDA Helping Jerry's Kids. Triangle Rent A Car will partner with the Muscular Dystrophy Association through the Green Shamrocks Program. Our customers may purchase a Green Shamrock for $1 or a Gold Shamrock for $5 when a vehicle is rented. Our goal is to send a child to the MDA Summer Camp. MDA does not receive funding from government agencies or United Way. It is through your donations that the MDA's mission to find a cure for over 43 neuro-muscular diseases, including ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease will become a reality.
